Lady Gaga sparkled on New Year’s Eve for celebrations on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, in Times Square, New York. The queen of bling donned a regal crystal covered gown, and a Cat Woman style black glittery number encrusted with Swarovski Elements crystals.
Gaga, who locked lips with New York’s mayor, Mike Bloomberg at midnight in front of the waiting New Year revellers, performed in her Swarovski crystal-encrusted black cat suit complemented by sassy black platform shoes.
The singer made her grand entrance in a large black cape dripping with Swarovski crystals and a face mask, in suitably outrageous fashion. The cape was then jettisoned to reveal the black suit, that was covered head to toe in Swarovksi crystals and contained by a rather strange oval cage that certanly made for a talking point.
Her shades featured the signature Versace Medusa medallions on the lenses to finish the iconic look, that no doubt left New York party-goers a gasp. But then what do you expect from Gaga?
After the celebrations on the square had finished, the partying didn’t. Lady Gaga reportedly invited her friends back to Joanne Trattoria, the restaurant she co-owns with her father, for a private get-together to see in 2012 in her own no-doubt extravagant way. And what followed? Yet another costume change, of course.
Lady Gaga is no stranger to Swarovski, wearing countless crystal encrusted garments publicly over the years, most famously of which was her appearance on American Idol in 2009 dressed in Benjamin Cho, embellished by thousands of Swarovski Elements. She’s also reported to have a Swarovski studded tea cup – quite a glamorous way to take afternoon tea.
